Your promotion will be delayed, your rating will be screwed
Yes, we all will face that. We won’t always get the ratings we think we deserve, or timely promotions; there would always be some other non-deserving, boss favorites who will get ahead in the race and your dumb classmate would be earning twice as much as you now. It’s part of the process, part of being in the bad world. Accept it. And handle it gracefully. Whining about it won’t do much good.
